ARTIST STATEMENT

Tomás always had an intuitive connection and reverence towards certain forms and shapes of nature, like a poetic ritual of contemplation from an early age.
The intention is to cause a personal introspective trip into the incognito, its Forms and Oneness.
To reflect the contemplative self as well as the timelessness essence of nature where everything vibrates, allowing colour and Form to emerge from action and intuition. Any object is a direct representation of the forces by which it has been subjected, forces both external and internal.
We are accumulation and emptiness.
Pushing our mind away from searching for references, comparison, names that usually prevent and condition us from seeing and perceiving what is in front of us. All aspects of the world Form an essential unity that contains a maze of chaotic information while moving and transforming like a Metamorphosis through the hands of the artist to become a whole new entity with its own identity and space.
An Icon of itself.
Trying to conceptualize the Zero-point where these two worlds of Form and Spirit touch and do not. Two different aspects of the same thing were we almost become but never consecrate, succumbing into this endless in-betweenness of time and space.
Non illustrational Forms dissolve into the all surrounding space to be recomposed into its own entity, manifesting and claiming its own place. From expressive brushstrokes, small details, its own music and shadows.
Organic yet abstract.
Most of Society these days is mainly self absorbed, entertained with its own celebration of ignorance, consumerism and vanity. And the usual traumatizing religious and political dogmas only add to this unforgiving disturbing soup. Our foolish, delusional and selfishness detaches us from the surrounding reality of nature. This creates a space around every shape.
Forms of empty timeless mental landscapes, take shape with a sense of liberation and hopefully transmute this social metaphor into a new more harmonious philosophical reality with less psychological anxiety and pollution.
It is a sincere struggle, full of contradictions maybe.
It works for me. It almost sets me free.
